Do Any Of You Go To The Movie Theater Anymore?

This is pretty cool offer from a Netflix cofounder

    Code:
Only registered members can view code.
$10 a month you can go to 1 movie a day at the theater, includes opening day. No IMAX or 3D. They send you a credit card that bills them for the ticket price and you only worry about $10 a month

I think the site's overrun. It's taking a really long time to pull pages up.

I just looked at their FAQ's, I'd need 3 of the cards to be able to take the wife and the kid to the movies, they don't have a couples or a family plan. So it would be $30/month for me. Not worth it yet, we don't go that often and when we do go, we usually try to catch the early shows on the weekends and the tix are only $5.76/each before noon.

I dont really care for the theater myself. But, a single person with the time to go a few times a week. Seems like a good deal. I may get it for my son and his GF so they can do something inexpensive

Looks like the biggest complaint is you need to wait 24 hours between viewings, but you can also try it free for a month

Several of the reviews I have read said that they jack up the monthly fee to use their service after you've had it for a few months.

I can't even tell if it will work at my little small town hole-in-the-wall theater.

No thanks, Porkster. I'll just pay out of pocket and go see matinee shows.

Did I read that correctly. You pay 10 dollars per month and you can see a movie once every 24 hours? Like in real world usage a person could go every second day (15x/month) for 10 bucks only?

My buddy's son works at a theater and we got free passes for Star Wars the Force Awakens. It was the first time in a theater for me since 2002. With the new stadium design seats, audio improvements and rumble seats, I was impressed The only bad thing was a young kid beside me flipping on his phone every seven seconds (literally). Real cool blue screen you got cowboy, but I don't need the distraction in a dark theater. I had to stare right at him for a full 30 seconds before he stopped.

When the ticket prices went over 10 bucks and average around 14-15 for a 'normal' movie, I said no way.

In theory, you can see one movie per day
