Thanks PCS...why does this sound too good to be true?

We get raped up here for movie prices and I can't see how theaters trying to make money would agree to this Netflix subsidy.

there have been complaints like rate hikes. But a matinee for me is $9. So it seems it would make sense if I only went twice. If you decide for the free trial, let us know how it goes

My buddy's son works at a theater and we got free passes for Star Wars the Force Awakens. It was the first time in a theater for me since 2002. With the new stadium design seats, audio improvements and rumble seats, I was impressed The only bad thing was a young kid beside me flipping on his phone every seven seconds (literally). Real cool blue screen you got cowboy, but I don't need the distraction in a dark theater. I had to stare right at him for a full 30 seconds before he stopped.

When the ticket prices went over 10 bucks and average around 14-15 for a 'normal' movie, I said no way.
Ticket prices are tiered here...if you go before noon, they are $5.76/each for adults and kids, after noon but before 4, the prices go to $9.98 for adults and $8.44 for kids and after 4 the price goes to $11.53 for adults and stays at $8.44 for kids.

That's where I'm getting bogged down in the logistics. If I pay let's say 13.50 for a normal movie and I end up buying the pass for 10 and I see only two movies that month, I've saved 17 dollars already.

If I really stretched my legs and saw one every 24 hours at a multiplex, let's say 28 movies in 30 days, normal cost would be 378 dollars.

    Ya they ain't making money

I just looked at an average theater's prices near my place. No IMAX or anything fancy. Their prices are of course tiered based on age and the day you go. Not so much daily times, but I'm sure there are cheaper matinees on certain days. 12.50 is the average price.

For the fancy stuff here, IMAX is $14.62 and 3D is $15.13

I imagine they will be negotiating the prices with the theaters at some point. Also, looks to be US only at this time
