High school wrestling coach resigns after admitting on-campus masturbation

A Collins Hill High School wrestling coach recently resigned from his position following a March complaint and subsequent human resources investigation that he was masturbating in his office, according to documents obtained by the Daily Post.

Danny Sinnott, who had worked at Collins Hill since 2014, resigned March 22 citing personal reasons a week after an email was sent to the school with images of Sinnott “engaging in what appears to be self-gratification” in his office, the documents said.

“The email was from a mailbox demanding money to not send out video of the event to teachers at Collins Hill,” the HR case summary said. “The author of the email was demanding money from Sinnott.”

The HR investigation, which looked into Sinnott’s violation of the district’s professional conduct policy, was first opened following the March 15 email.

While the Daily Post could not confirm that there is, in fact, a video of the incident, the HR file said that Sinnott “allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior of a sexually, self-gratifying nature in his classroom with no students being present.”

“In conversation with HR, Sinnott admitted engaging in self gratification in his office,” the document said.

Sinnott declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Post.

Prior to being hired by Collins Hill in 2014, Sinnott was a coach at Peachtree Ridge for nine years, eight of which he spent as the school’s head wrestling coach.

He also previously spent two years at South Forsyth High School in Forsyth County.

Currently, Belvis Hajiric is listed as the interim head coach for Collins Hill.
