Woman says ‘why not?’ after spending most of her inheritance on drugs

A woman blew every last cent of her father’s inheritance money within just nine months, including $150,000 on drugs.
Brodie Bond, from Morwel, in Australia, successfully fought for a huge slice of her father’s will, $220,000 to be exact, after he left her nothing when he died.
But rather than using that money wisely, the 28-year-old blew much of it in less than a year.
Speaking to Channel Nine’s A Current Affair, Ms Bond said: ‘Out of that money, probably $150,000 went to ice, in less than a year.’
It doesn’t look like she is too bothered about it either, admitting she spent the remaining $70,000 on alcohol, clothes and a car – which she later crashed.
Ms Bond says though she and her father were estranged, she was entitled to a large chunk of his estate.
‘Even though he hadn’t been in my life, he was still my dad, and the grief I was going through at the time, I should’ve benefited from that,’ she said.
When she finally received the money in June 2016, Ms Bond says she celebrated with a slab of Jack Daniel’s and vodka shots during a drug-fuelled night with a friend.
She said: ‘Why not? It’s not everyday you get that much money.’
Ms Bond’s story will be aired on Channel Nine on Tuesday evening.
