Police: Man arrested after calling 911 to find out if he had any warrants

Thibodaux, Louisiana — A Louisiana man is behind bars after dialing 911 to check if there were any active warrants for his arrest.
According to WGNO, Christian Palacios, 24, placed the call just after 10 p.m. on July 16.
He reportedly told officers responding to his call that he knew the difference between an emergency call and a non-emergency call.
Palacios is now charged with unlawful use of the 911 system, the Thibodaux Police Department said.
The violation carries up to a $500 fine and as much as 30 days in the parish jail.
