Warning Google Translate users TERRIFIED as site reveals disturbing DOOMSDAY prophecies

By Anthony Blair - The Daily Star

Google Translate users have discovered typing in nonsense in particular languages and translating it back into English reveals terrifying messages — some predicting the end of the world.

For example, typing dog into Google Translate eight times with the settings on Hawaiian and translating it to English reveals the bizarre message: "Do you want a dog to accept Jesus and be saved?"

But type dog in 20 times and a far more disturbing message comes up.

The screenshot, which was shared on Reddit, reads: "Doomsday Clock is three minutes at 12. We are experiencing characters and a dramatic developments [sic] in the world, which indicate that we are increasingly approaching the end times and Jesus' return".

BIZARRE: This terrifying message comes up if you type dog in and translate it from Maori

And typing "Ag" multiple times into Google Translate, then translating it from Somali to English, reveals bizarre Bible references.

"As a result, the total number of the members of the tribe of the sons of Gershon was one hundred fifty thousand," the message reads.

Another cryptic message reads: "As the name of the LORD was written in the Hebrew language, it was written in the language of the Hebrew Nation."

No one is exactly sure why the bizarre translations have appeared, with some putting it down to ghosts or demons.

Other users on Reddit have speculated the messages are taken from hacked emails or private messages.

Alexander Rush, a professor at Harvard University, told technology site Motherboard the glitch was most likely down to a change made by Google Translate several years ago when it started using a technique called "neural machine translation".

MYSTERY: This message seems to reveal a Biblical quotation

This is where the system is trained with large numbers of texts in one language and translations in another so it can move between the two.

When the system is fed nonsense, he said, it "hallucinates", creating bizarre outputs.

Sean Colbath, a senior scientist at BBN Technologies, said it may be Google use translations of the Bible to train the software, which would explain some of the bizarre prophetic messages.

It works in both cases. Cool glitch/easter egg. I wonder how they figured it out. Oh well... moving on...
