You don't understand. Journalists don't have free reign to do whatever they want at the White House. There are rules of decorum. Journalists get to ask one question, they get their answer, then they're done so that another can ask a question. They don't get unlimited follow ups. They don't get to take over the press conference. They may be able to ask other questions later, time permitting, but it'll be one at a time. Sometimes, they can ask multiple related questions up front (Did blank blank blank, and if so, did blank blank blank?), but they're generally expected to be short and to the point. That does not mean they can't be hard. The President has a pretty hectic schedule, and having the media there at all is a courtesy. Technically speaking, the President doesn't have to entertain the media at all. It's not required. It's a professional courtesy. That being said, it's not a street interview. Anything does not go. If he says you're done, then you're done. If an aid comes to collect the mic from you, you give it up immediately and without question. It's about respect and courtesy, of which Acosta has neither and has displayed as much on multiple occasions. He really should be stripped of his journalistic credentials entirely, and I'd say that if he had pulled the same shit during Obama's tenure as well.

Ok, he was belligerent. Can't argue with that. And I'm not saying he didn't deserve some kind of suspension.

    My question still holds...

Did you see anyone else in that press conference pulling the shit that Acosta did?

Others in the room ask the same challenging questions. They do it respectfully. He is an asshole that confronts and accuses rather than ask questions. Look up videos on how he treats Sarah Huckabee Sanders, same thing.

I take your points. I didn't like how he behaved, but don't know his track record

He's spent the last two years doing nothing but trying to provoke a reaction.

Boo Hoo Report: CNN And Jim Acosta File Lawsuit Against Trump Administration

Joe Simonson - The Daily Caller

CNN and Jim Acosta are allegedly suing the Trump administration for removing the press credentials of the controversial reporter following a tense incident Wednesday during a news conference at the White House.

According to ABC’s former White House correspondent Sam Donaldson, Acosta and his employer filed a lawsuit and are expecting a court hearing in the upcoming week.

The news came during an episode of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” when Donaldson told host Brian Stelter that he had been asked by the network to give an affidavit in support of Acosta.

Yet a CNN spokesperson would not say that it was going ahead with any legal action against the Trump administration, telling The Hill that “no decisions have been made.”

The White House decided to revoke Acosta’s credentials after a back-and-forth between Acosta and President Donald Trump erupted when the reporter refused to hand a microphone back to a staffer when the president told Acosta he would no longer be answering questions from him.

Trump then referred to Acosta as a “rude” and “horrible” individual in the latest episode of a growing feud between the White House and CNN.

Go right ahead and file a frivolous lawsuit. And the President should stop holding press conferences in retaliation. Those pressers are at the discretion of the President, they aren't a right.
