Miley Cyrus has been forced to come out and defend herself after she swore at a fan who was very rude to her.

The pop star was accused of being an 'asshole' after she politely told some fans she didn't have any more time to pose for photographs.

Miley, who responded with, 'what the fuck', was on holiday in Costa Rica with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and they were rushing to catch a helicopter when she was surrounded by a group of girls.

Caught on video, Miley politely stopped and posed for photos but as she sees the helicopter is waiting, she makes her way over it with Liam at her heels.

But a fan tries to push in front and get another picture even though she can see that the singer is in a hurry.

Miley is seen and heard politely saying, 'Sorry, gotta go honey,' and walks off with Liam by her side.

But as she does, one of the girls shouts after her, 'asshole', which an incredulous Miley responds with: 'What the fuck? Are you for real?'

Shaking her head, she carries on walking and says: 'We're on vacation, I'm not being an asshole, we're on vacation.'

Some of them catch up with her at the chopper and once again, Miley politely posed with them before heading on her way.

But it didn't take long for the video to make the local news channel and the row was soon reported around the world.

Today, Miley came out in defence of her actions and said while she would never usually swear at a fan, she can't stand rude behaviour.

Posting on her Twitter page, she wrote: 'Been trying not to tweet & just enjoy the holidays but just to clear something up I would NEVER swear to a fan.



'When someone yells something SO rude making ME look like an "a******" in front of fans who I am more than happy 2 take a picture w/ i cant tolerate that kind of rudeness.

'Every1 who was there apologized 4 the woman's brusque behavior. She obviously wasn't a fan. Hope every1 has a Merry Christmas! LOVE 2 ALL!'

And her fans came out in defence of the star and wrote their thoughts underneath the video which had been posted on YouTube.

One wrote: 'The fans are assholes for bothering them in their private time. She is not there doing a movie or concert so it is not work related and they should leave her the fuck alone.'

Another added: 'The fan was rude and who says she was even a fan or rather just a person who feels important by getting their picture taken with celebrities like they are entitled to it. Miley did nothing wrong.'

And one other said: 'She was on vacation, she wasn't there to take pictures with a bunch of brats, they need to respect that. She was right to say that to the fan!'

she's on holidays, she took some time for fans and a helicopter was waiting.That fan should get in line and pay 200 bucks for a concert ticket instead...
