Three people have been indicted on bestiality charges in Maricopa County Superior Court, officials said Tuesday.
Christopher Jackson, 49, and Josephine Erikson, 61, were arrested Sept. 17, and Mary Kanitz, 48, was taken into custody the following day, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said sheriff’s deputies discovered a video in Jackson's Chandler home of the trio performing various sex acts with a male German shepherd while searching Jackson’s home in connection with an aggravated assault case.
Jackson was initially taken into custody on Sept. 3 after an investigation revealed he branded his initials on a woman’s vagina to signify “his property,” the Sheriff’s Office said. Jackson was “re-arrested” in the bestiality case.
A Maricopa County Superior grand jury indicted Jackson, Erickson and Kanitz on Friday. Sheriff’s deputies are trying to determine if additional persons were involved in the incident.
