I hope these path projections change.

The eye of the storm is expected to make landfall around daybreak Tuesday, said CNN senior meteorologist Taylor Ward. That will probably happen off the western tip of the Tiburon Peninsula, which includes most of Haiti's southern coast
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.
The current five-day projection has it sideswiping the Atlantic coastline from Miami all the way up to North Carolina from Thursday until Saturday... of course the 5-day projection is a wide area, including land and ocean, but I'm in that area, and it's kind of unnerving when the projection of a category 4 hurricane has your area shaded in.

Appreciated. If I have to, I'll head inland to west Georgia for a day or two. Or maybe up to Atlanta. Maybe I'll go see my cousin in Stockbridge. I haven't seen them in a while.

Can I board up? Not sure. Am I physically capable? Not really, but I do have the benefit of a couple of good neighbors. If it was necessary, they would help out.
Do I need to? If it was a major hurricane direct hit, it would be an exercise in futility.
I'm close enough to the coastline that the area would get flooded by a surge. My house is wheelchair accessible so it's not very high. The house would get flooded. And I'm surrounded by woods, so high winds would probably knock the shit down on my house. It is a brick house, and it has hurricane straps, so it might stand... but then again, the kind of forces we're talking about.... I might have to sift through the rubble to find something that might have survived.
We'll see what happens. The projections will be constantly updated and I'll know for sure what's up sometime Wednesday morning.
If it stays out at sea, then it more than likely won't be a problem for me. If it hits land early, it'll weaken. If it's a cat 1 or 2, I probably won't bother moving an inch. If I'm facing a cat 3 or higher, I'm gone.

Remember to pack cheese, guns and the guitars

I'd have to take the guns, in case somebody loots houses. There's no way in hell I could leave those behind. I'd take one guitar and my laptop.
As for the cheese...
