Trump Falsely Claims His Approval Among Black Americans Has Doubled
WASHINGTON — Even as he is embroiled in an immigration policy debate that has focused on whether he used vulgar language to describe Haiti and African countries, President Trump is claiming that he is delivering for black Americans — and that they are repaying him with their support.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday morning, Mr. Trump said that “unemployment for Black Americans is the lowest ever recorded” and “Trump approval ratings with black Americans has doubled.” He appeared to credit the comments to a segment on “Fox & Friends,” the morning program on Fox News.
The tweet — half misleading and half downright false — demonstrates how inaccurate information can trickle to the president’s social media, which is then is viewed by millions of people on Twitter and Facebook.

Donald Trump Hogs Umbrella While Wife and Son Get Rained On
On Tuesday President Donald Trump faced—quelle surprise!—criticism. This time it wasn't over his unpopular political opinions or outwardly racist statements but rather for what appears to be a move that quite literally left his wife and son out in the cold.
In new press photos and videos, the President can be seen walking up the stairs to board Air Force One while holding an oversize black golf umbrella. It looks to be a normal enough scene, until you realize his wife, Melania, and 11-year-old son, Barron, were following behind, neither of whom were protected from the elements. Of course, Trump may have offered to give them the umbrella—to which they could have said no thanks, we're good—but, well, c'mon.
Regardless of how it went down, it wasn't a great look, and people on social media were clearly displeased.

Donald Trump's Tweets Really Matter. These 27 Examples Prove It
Story
President Donald Trump’s critics have long argued whether his tweets are a distraction from the more important policy decisions being made behind the scenes.
But some of Trump’s tweets as president have been just as consequential, if not more so.
In Trump’s first year in office, tweets from @realdonaldtrump have cut the cost of an Air Force contract, undermined White House messaging, forced federal agencies to rebuke them, stoked a congressional investigation, spurred the former director of the FBI to leak a damaging memo, possibly led to the appointment of a special counsel, created new legal trouble for the White House, announced a new military policy to the surprise of the Pentagon, upended a Republican plan to gut an ethics office, nearly derailed two bills the White House backed and been cited by multiple judges ruling against the Administration on several issues.
That seems entirely appropriate, as then-spokesman Sean Spicer said in June that Trump’s tweets are“considered official statements by the President of the United States.”

Week 52, in one sentence: President Donald Trump denied that he said anything “derogatory” after he called El Salvador, Haiti, and African countries “shitholes”; underwent his first physical as president, was declared healthy by the White House physician, even as independent doctors claimed Trump has a common form of heart disease; stayed mum about allegations of paying former porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their affair; called himself the “least racist person”; urged Americans to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day by getting involved in their communities; spent MLK Day golfing at Mar-a-Lago; lambasted Democrats over DACA, which he deemed “probably dead”; reportedly refused to sit down with the Congressional Black Caucus’ leaders; tweeted out a broken link to his highly anticipated “Fake News Awards”; more than halved U.S. aid money to Palestinians; traveled to Pennsylvania to campaign for Rick Saccone; and tweeted that his stance on the border wall has never changed right after his chief of staff said it had “evolved.”

Trump spends MLK Day on the golf course
Though he encouraged Americans to observe MLK Day “with appropriate civic, community, and service activities in honor of Dr. King's life and legacy,” Trump spent his long weekend, including the holiday, at Mar-a-Lago. While past presidents have observed MLK Day by serving in soup kitchens or volunteering in schools, Trump played golf. He left Mar-a-Lago that day for Washington.
Trump also found time to once again deny calling El Salvador, Haiti, and African countries “shitholes” and deride Democrats in one tweet. “I don’t believe the Democrats really want to see a deal on DACA. They are all talk and no action. This is the time, but, day by day, they are blowing the one great opportunity they have. Too bad!” he wrote.
