I'll probably be the one crying when they reduce Spock to a simpering little misunderstood wimp.
Damn...another episode is on tonight.
yay
Just wait until the time travel plays a part in the whole thing. I read (on the Discover sub-reddit I think) that people think the Red Angel is Picard coming back in time from the future.
I've also seen people speculating that Capt Lorca will be making a comeback too.

He's Super Saru now!
No shackles can hold Super Saru!
And he fires some kind of needles out of the slot in his head now too!
I listened to a bit of the podcast on this one. They started by saying it was a worldbuilding episode...in this case worldbuilding to me means they are trying to rewrite aspects of the show that didn't play well for the season one audience and/or make little sense moving forward. So they took Saru's ganglia and gave him a set of balls, yay.
Still...if I'm Pike and anyone is that uppity with me? To the brig Saru you overgrown piece of battered shrimp!
So new male podcaster has to be positive as he covers the show writing online articles. He lists everything about the episode and says he likes it all.
Female podcaster says she disagrees with every point, especially since this group of Starfleet members just loves to piss all over the prime directive in every way possible
It depends on what relationship to the show the podcaster has. Original male created the podcast website and says he gets crucified on Twitter and Facebook and his comment sections if he gets too negative. That's just a personal thing. He's had two male guests who have become full time hosts. Those guys write for the show for the Hollywood Reporter and Parade. When you're covering the show on one of those sites, it doesn't help the writer if he's constantly hating the show he gets paid to write for. Those online outlets are awarded the coverage over other sites, and that in turn gives them access to some of the stars and production people for interviews.
Chick on the other hand is affiliated with the podcast website only, so she's better able to be honest and often says - Bring it, come at me if you don't agree
If you've ever watched The Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick it's the same premise but on a smaller scale. Hardwick can't shit where he eats.

What did you think of the black goo creatures that talked like they smoked 20 packs of cigarettes a day?
Ooooooooooooo, scary
I like that they have drones floating around that can easily be disassembled and reassembled into communicators And it's especially nice that in the brig (I guess it was their brig?) that they happen to have a port in the floor that you can just plug something into that can be used for anything you need to tap into their obelisk system
I actually liked the look of the creatures and their ships. I kinda suspected that was the premise, where they were once the prey and just turned things around. Mind you there's 100000 years of evolution missing with the changes necessary to each species to switch spots and develop things like threat ganglia, but who's nitpicking It would have been cooler in my opinion for them to be tiny little things or not threatening at all.
Yes that scene with the drone/communicator/ Home Hardware floor socket made me smile. One scene it's a drone, next he's making toast and coffee with it. Another part of the tech aspect I don't like.
