This is from a recap from a reviewer that loves Discovery. And THIS is what bothers her when it comes to canon yest everything else that has happened is fine.
Teh One Who Knocks (03-04-2019)
I'll have to see if I can find it again. Someone put together a video of things in canon that completely contradict things that have happened in Discovery. One of them is (and I think it was from TOS, but it might have been from TNG) when discussing mutiny, it's mentioned that a mutiny has NEVER happened in Star Fleet's history.
Yet here we have Burnham, a CONVICTED mutineer.

I made a few comments on the other site as the series was airing last season and made lists of all the things Burnham did within the first three episodes. Someone there of course called me a hater after I commented on the first episode, so I loaded up the reasons and made the list I'm too lazy to go find them and rewrite them here. We all watched that shitshow play out in real time.
Never mind the insults to canonical Star Trek, how did the people writing that mess ever think the fans would get behind a new character who mutinied, pretty much killed her captain in a fight and killed thousands of people as a result? Even the character itself is wonky because Burnham is supposed to be sister of Spock, a super logical and intelligent human. Geez even Kirk on a bad day wouldn't blow up half the fleet pulling his shit
I read that they had a certain writing/production team in charge of the first two episodes then attempted to re-do everything as the initial eps didn't test well.
I remember seeing the teaser promo with the gold Discovery ship and thinking this is going to be real cool, going back in time a little and seeing another story

Judges say......X!
You needed to invoke another sci-fi franchise to get the triple combo, not stick with Star Wars
God that was a sad TV moment...bye Shireen
Okay, a question. After Pike and TylerVoq and Stamets made it back to Discovery, that time rift thingy was going to...explode? And just before it happened, they managed to warp away before any of the shock waves hit them. Sooooooooo....what happened to Kaminar? And why didn't Saru say anything knowing that his planet was going to be hit with massive time displacement waves? Or will that just be another plot hole that Discovery will tiptoe around and pretend didn't happen?
