Happy Victoria Day! I'm not sure why only Canadians observe this one, but I'm enjoying the day off
We call it The May Long over here and it's always the same thing. People consider it the start of summer and then stress on camping plans because it inevitably rains.
This year it snowed in some places
It's Queen Victoria's Birthday (and Elizabeth the II) or some shit like that. You can google the other stuff about the military and why we celebrate it.
Funny I was just reading about it. Seems we started celebrating it in Canada long before she even gave us Confederation. Don't think it has anything to do with the military, we just liked the excuse to party on Queeniepoo's b-day as far back as 1845 from what I can tell

You should have seen the New Jersey girl blow a shitstack when I said that paper thin foldable NYC shit wasn't even real pizza
I get her to the point of admitting she's never tried many other types of pizza and then I accuse her (and all New Yorkers) of appropriating pizza from Italy you fucking thieves
I dono, I don't see how it's tied to anything to do with the military other than that they observe it like the rest of us?

God...you have the whole day off and I gotta do your web searches? Fuck me
" Celebrating the monarch’s birthday is a long tradition in Canada, according to Garry Toffoli, vice-chairman and executive director of the Canadian Royal Heritage Trust, going back to George III’s reign in the 18th and 19th century.
In Canada, as in England, the day was associated with the military – although England’s “Trooping the Colour” military parade was more impressive than Canada’s annual militia muster, said Toffoli. "
