This is a little closer to the actual color. It's hard to photograph. Ignore the dawgs and the mess, haha

Was watching this last night....
Been learning RATM and Audioslave tracks this afternoon - most of it is a lot easier than i'd imagined, quite chuffed with myself!

Yeah, Tom Morello's not particularly difficult or intricate. It's when he stomps on the pedals to get those cool sound effects that things get hairy to figure out.

And the feedback that I use my noise gates to get rid of.

Nice collection, Kev! I have a week off so I'm catching up on stuff. Meant to post a pic of my guitars and my "studio" such as it is!
1)Martin DX1RAE, Epiphone Casino, Kramer Ferrington KFS-2, Yamaha C40, (not pictured, a Samick super strat which I never play)
2) My wife's Yamaha PSR-500 keyboard and the "studio", Zoom meeting place, Exercise room etc etc etc!
I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 plugged into my computer and I'm having fun learning how to record using Reaper.

Why not?
tbf, i currently have 3 guitars that don't get touched My two main guitars sit in a double stand in my bedroom (Martin HD-28 + Squire Tele), the other 3 are cased in a cupboard (Yamaha FG-something, Seagull S6 and an Ibanez Roadstar 2 which needs a bit of electrical work). Don't have the space for all 5, should really just sell the Yamaha and Seagull.

It's just that I never bonded with it. Each of the other guitars I can pick up and tunes just come out of it, if that makes sense.
The Samick has a Floyd Rose that's hard to set up. It was "deep purple" but time has worn away the purple flecks and it's black now black with black pickups. It actually looks a litle evil. TBH my skills on guitar have improved and I haven't taken it out of the case in about 2 years -- I should figure out how to restring it via YouTube - I should give it another chance. I bought it from a friend for $200 used 20 years ago and it just never clicked with me. Supposedly its the same spec as an Ibanez Shark Tooth(?) and has that neck. It looks just like this one:

Nice guitar, Noilly.
Floyds are a pain in the ass, but like anything else, the more you do it, the better you get at it. I've got 3 Ibanez guitars with Floyds on them and have been messing with the Floyd since 1993. It doesn't bother me as much like it used to, but honestly, if I'm buying a guitar today, I'm looking for a non-floating, non-locking trem system, if I'm looking for a trem system at all. The last two guitars I picked up both had set bridges.
If you're having problems getting the Floyd to zero when changing strings, then you have to either add or remove springs in the spring cavity, or even mess with the anchor screws, or both. I'd advise to install a tremsetter type device in the spring cavity when you've got it set perfect and in tune. I have tremsetters in all of my Ibanez guitars. They make life easier.
The only thing I hate about the locking/floating trems is that you have to go through hell to change the tuning of the guitar. That's why standard Fender-style trem systems and set bridges are so much better to have.

I had that same exact black Cort Explorer guitar back in the 80s. It was my very first guitar.
