I got the job of setting it up for him, and of course putting it through it's paces I stripped, cleaned and rebuilt my old Laney valve amp earlier in the week and got my multi-effects pedal back on the go, hours just disappeared! Been trying (to no avail) to get my old Ibanez Roadstar 2 working but it has me beat atm (my mate, the Ibanez's ex-owner, says it had water damage to the electrics and there is a fair bit of corrosion in there). I got it for free so no complaints, jst won't be able to play it until i can get it into my guy at the shop...... which is currently closed

Anyhow......... i'd always fancied a Tele, and it's one guitar i've never owned, so i started looking around and stumbled upon this video:

Just bought a 2nd hand one on ebay for £100 including delivery At that price it was pretty easy to push the button on!
Squiers are a surprisingly good value for a budget guitar. They're basically cheap Fenders, and in some cases, you can upgrade the Squier's hardware with Fender replacements. Squiers are usually known as the guitars you buy to mod. The Affinities are better than the Bullets, so if you picked up an Affinity, you did yourself a favor. Around November last year, my brother asked me what a good beginner guitar would be for my younger nephew and I pointed him to a Squier Affinity Stratocaster on the Guitar Center website.

My first guitar was a squire stratocaster. It's still going strong with my nephew. I rolled dressed up the fret and board edges, did a good (for me) set up. Plays as good as my MIM Strat. Did the same to my brother in laws squire strat. I kinda sorta like his better than my MIM strat. It does need different electronics and pickups though.

The most important simple upgrades to the Squiers are the nut and the output jack plate. They're both plastic and easy to break. It's a pretty cheap upgrade on both ends, you just have to get the right parts. If you do the nut right, you can make the Squier a dream to play on. A good TUSQ nut would work wonders.

I'd replace the tuners too. It kinda depends on the model year, but I think that most of them will take Fender locking tuners. I put a set on my '94 MIM strat and they rock.

Everything else depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go on the money end.

Actually, up till last year, that studio would have been friendly to you. I had built a ramp for my father in law. A couple years after he passed,I took the ramp out, and the Morgan building became my guesthouse/studio. We painted the walls, did the fake beams on the ceiling, and put in cheap laminate flooring. It looked really, really good, but the flood ruined the laminate. I really need to get off my arse and put some new flooring down.

The reason next guitar will probably not be my last is, I want a p90. I've had an es-335, and a d'angelico semi hollow. Seems semi hollow are not for me. My brother in law cried when I sold the es. Haha.

I want a bunch of guitars, so I'll probably end up needing a room like yours sooner or later.

Hmm. New Solar guitar is due Mon. If it comes in, might be a late night before I leave for work Tuesday.

2020 Solar Guitars S1.6PP. Made in Indonesia, mahogany back, through neck, ebony board, mahogany/jojoba (sp) neck, Duncan/Solar pickups. Evertune bridge. Hands down the best neck, fret edges, etc I've ever felt, including the guitars high on the wall at the shop. I trust ran it clean through my Blackstar Artist, dirty through the Bassbreaker, Metal will have to go through my Katana once I get back from work in 2 weeks. I dont have time to play with it anymore right now.
