No, but seriously, I was considering using that space in between the houses as an exit/pathway (which is effectively blocked now), if for some odd reason there was an emergency, I need to get out of the house, and I couldn't use the front door. It's not really that big of a space to begin with, and I know that the neighbors are not required to consult me about what they choose to do with their part of the property, but it would have been nice if they at least let me know before putting something like that up.

Oh well, at least I still have the other side.

Here's another thing, and it's absolutely none of my business, but they have 2 little kids, and I'm assuming that the fenced in area is for them (which is cool), but really, the fence they're putting up doesn't keep anything out. Snakes will still get through. If something bigger comes around, it'll still be able to get over top of the fence with relative ease as it's not that high. You're not gonna keep anyone bad from jumping over it, or even a rabid dog... it's just not really secure in any way, shape, or form.

Sure, it'll keep gators out, but we have other wildlife issues that this fence won't address.

You don't need a fence for that, I have a rock I carry around with me at all times that repels gators. In the 20+ years I've lived in Colorado, I have yet to see one anywhere

Our constant -30 temperature and snow helps keep the gators down too
