That's the shit thing about boxing these days, far too many "governing bodies" and arsehole agents/managers........ i'm not really a UFC fan but their model is far better since you see the best v the best on a regular basis.

Yup, it sucks, but I'm sure as the UFC keeps growing in popularity, they will have the same issues boxing does now. I remember as a kid boxing being on regular TV on the weekends, big name fights too. Now it's ALL on PPV only if the fight has anyone with any name in the sport. All you see on TV now are nobodies.

It's not quite as bad over here, Sky Sports has a lot of good cards that aren't PPV (although Sky Sports are subscription channels - 7 channels altogether!), the only recent one here that was a separate PPV night was the Froch vs Groves return.

Yep, if it ain't on regular tv then you're not gonna get the casual fan tuning in like they would in days gone by! When i was a kid we used to have sleepovers for the big US fights (normally 2am-4am on a sunday morning), it was fuckin' great :lol: There were more characters back then too though, guys like Frank Bruno, Naseem Hamed etc, they were great to watch! Although i remember we stayed up for a Naseem fight and he knocked the guy out with two punches :mrgreen:

Yeah I remember watching Mike when he was 16 or 17....around 1985/86 when I working in Banff. I played pretty well last night, changed to a new set of darts last week since i've been throwing crap this year! It's strange, i won 2 league singles titles, 2 average man titles and a bunch of other trophies with my old darts but when i picked them up at the start of this season they just refused to enter the board straight, they kept tweaking to the right for some reason :shrug: Tried different flights, stems etc but i just couldn't get them flying right at all :( During the summer i decided to take a break from darts altogether and for the first time in 4 or 5 years i stopped practicing altogether......... obviously my throw has changed slightly since i started playing again, that's all i can think of! Anyway, i finally decided to put them down and try a new set....... went down to a 20g set and i'm back throwing like i used to! Yep, it was obviously the break that did it, heard/seen other darts players saying the same thing plenty of times but i'd never faced it myself, it was really fucking annoying knowing how well i can play yet going up to the board and playing utter shite :lol:

I played pretty well last night, changed to a new set of darts last week since i've been throwing crap this year! It's strange, i won 2 league singles titles, 2 average man titles and a bunch of other trophies with my old darts but when i picked them up at the start of this season they just refused to enter the board straight, they kept tweaking to the right for some reason :shrug: Tried different flights, stems etc but i just couldn't get them flying right at all :( During the summer i decided to take a break from darts altogether and for the first time in 4 or 5 years i stopped practicing altogether......... obviously my throw has changed slightly since i started playing again, that's all i can think of! Anyway, i finally decided to put them down and try a new set....... went down to a 20g set and i'm back throwing like i used to! its funny my pre shot routine is very different left vs right. I'm still getting use to proper grip :lol: but shit I can throw a baseball or a football lefty so no reason not to throw darts lefty too.

I played with 25g darts for years, had a throw of a mates 21g darts in the pub one friday night and threw great so i bought an identical set then ended up having a custom set made with the exact same measurements and weight but a better grip! Played with them for the last 3 or 4 years and won everything in our league with them plus played for Perthshire County for a couple of years :) Played against a couple of Scotland international players on the big stage and i also beat Steve Beaton (1996 World Champ) at an exhibition last year :) If i'm on my game i can beat anyone......... biggest problem i have is arm trouble, my shoulder is pretty much fucked and i keep picking up other tweaks at work :x

I normally do too :lol: Had a great customer today though, he came in to pick up his car (we were doing a bumper repair for him and he'd asked me if i'd mind swapping out a taillamp for him while it was in so i did that) and gave me a £20 tip :tup: Wish every customer was like that........ most of them are just moaning cunts :x Although this guy was an undertaker....... i just hope he wasn't looking for reciprocation of business :mrgreen:

Sounds like a guy who wants to try to knock down the price and just didn't know what to say. Like when you buy a house "the appliances aren't new."

My mechanic diagnosed cars with ancient equipment until about 2005 when he had to modernize to fix the newer cars. He would tune by feel, and my cars always lasted and got good power and economy.

weird thing is, I'm....well, I was raised right handed in a right hand world, but I'm pretty ambidextrous and left eye dominant - so its not exactly weird I'm hitting more bullseyes lefty... even though groups are tighter rightey
