I know I've been talking about this a lot recently, but it really helps to get the input from everyone on this forum. You all are great, and I have a ton of respect for the people around here.

I don't do any hiring but am involved with the interviewing process for our guys...I can usually tell within 15 minutes how long the person will last, how serious he is about the job and working in general.

My prediction rate for people staying/going is something like 98% over the space of about 10 years :lol:

as MrsM mentioned, you don't have to be dick and shows that you're expressing interest and are serious about working for their company :thumbsup:

Right now I'd be in a dumpy college house with a bunch of the bros, making some beer/smoking apparatus out of duct-tape. We'd be watching sports and gaming in our pj's or whatever we passed out in the night before. We'd start drinking in about two hours, ordering food, making the neighbors uncomfortable on the back porch and playing beer pong until the sun went down. A bunch of young women would show up about 9 hours from now, comment on how drunk and disgusting we are and then embarrass themselves before their micky of peach vodka was gone. I'd be loser-drunk in 12 hours and passed out in a bush (coniferous, deciduous or vaginuous), shortly thereafter. Wake up in the same dump , carve a seat on the couch out from under dixie cups and empty cans and start all over again...


And then in a flash it's all over :lol:

Instead I'm making weekend business calls and kissing asses.

Not being broke and eating KD will be a nice change though...

Hi everyone! Finally a decent Saturday in New York. Not too cold. Not raining (yet). And no snow in the forecast. Maybe Spring is really just hiding around the corner! Or maybe just a mugger is. You can never tell around here.

I visited the Major in the hospital again today. He's lost so much weight and it's only been 2 weeks since I first saw him. He's really tired but it looks like it's all good again. He said if he doesn't run another fever he could be released to go home on either Monday or Tuesday.

And, ugghhh! I just got a notice to renew my driver's license. Honestly, I haven't driven a car more than 5 times since I first got my license. Good thing it's just an eye test to renew. Manhattanites better stay off the streets if I ever get behind a wheel! :lol:

OK... Who's got experience with online purchases? I need to replace my laptop I bought a year ago as a friend "borrowed" it and has decided he wants to keep it and just pay me for it.
The good news is he's gonna give me $700 for the lappy,case and mouse which is almost exactly what I have invested. Also I have been shopping around and think I can get the next model up for $529 but I can only find it at Tigerdirect and Amazon.

It's a 17.3 Gateway CoreI3 2.4GHz 500 gig HDD 4 gigs DDR3 windows7 premium. Yea, I know it's a Gateway but it's by far the best bang for my buck in that price range. Only alternates under $600 are reconditioned HP's and an Acer.

I will say though that sometimes their inventory numbers are not perfectly accurate.
