A few of my mate's had one, i had the Spectrum One good thing about the Speccy was that Multi Player Soccer Manager worked fine, it used to crash after 5 or 6 seasons on the C64 (important things to consider when you're a footy loving kid)

OK - back on track...My English cousin phoned me at 4pm, December 31st 1999 (midnight for him), sounding very "beery" and reported that he still had electricity, and telephone. Then he hung up mid-sentence.

I got a Commodore Vic-20 for a high school grad present, then gave that to my bro and bought a Commodore 64, then in '86 decided Computers were the career for me and in '88 got a diploma from college.

I assembled my own 286...before the internet there was BBS's you dialed into for your...er...pictures of vistas.


Then leapt up to the 486/33mhz, and Frankensteined it to 99mhz and on and on I went...

my dad always brought stuff home from work, I remember the 80086 with two 5.25" floppies and no hdd I used to dig through books and write the games in basic and shit. by the time 98 came around, computers were the obvious choice since I was already buggered off of that physics degree by then.

y2k was so dumb, I got paid 30 bucks an hour to go make sure programs were compatible
