It's not even as if there were copyright infractions going on, although dDOS attacks aren't exactly the typical modus operandi of angry right holders anyway. Crap situation, lots of work for no tangible benefit.

We've been to spain, it was a good time to go because it wasn't all that hot yet. With small kids, it's a bitch if you have to worry about sun protection all day long, and keeping them inside pretty much defeats the purpose of going away for the holidays...we still went through over two pints of sublock.

We were in a rural area near the sea, so we didn't do any sightseeing, but it's still lovely. Although it was a bit sad to see just how many businesses are closed, for sale or without any customers, the recession they're going through is brutal. tourism and the construction sector are the most important areas of their economy. Construction is almost dead because they've really built all the railroads, highways, harbours and airports they're going to need for the next 40 years or so and there is (at least statistically) more housing than they'd need for the local population and tourists. Tourism isn't much better off what with the bad economy in britain and a few other countries. Sucks to be them for a few years at least.

It wasn't an expensive holiday, that's for sure. A friend let us stay in her holiday house for free so we were left with nothing but airfare, car rental and shopping/restaurant bills tpo pay for. The overall price level is about the same as here, so we didn't spend much more than we'd have done at home anyway. And, last but certainly not least, I HATE hotels and tourist hotspots in general so staying "in the sticks" suited me just fine, the kids didn't care anyway. We might go back again in the fall or winter when it's cold an rainy over here. *rubs hands*
