We had a Chevy Envoy get towed in today riddled with bullet holes. Both drivers side tires, two in the fender, one in the drivers door, one through the drivers window, three in the rear door, two through the rear door movable glass and the stationary glass, two in the rear quarter panel and one in the tailgate metal behind the glass.

Supposedly the girl let her boyfriend drive it to take someone home, according to him they were just driving down the street where there was a block party and someone started shooting. Seems really fishy to me. I doubt the police were even called.

The shot that went through the door right in front of the handle would have hit the driver if it had gone through the interior (expecting to find the slug inside) and the shot at the back window was dead on from the back at head height, two inches to the right and it probably would have killed the driver.

Also we had a converted for wheelchair van broken into Monday night in the lot, threw a 2x4 through the back quarter window, rummaged around a bit but the only thing missing apparently was a couple dollar bills. Left the pile of change, left the stereo, left all the roof mount TV's....:-k

We can't figure out why the guy broke the little window in the back to get in (instead of the door glass and unlock the door), I doubt I would be able to get through the broken window. And even the cops say it doesn't make sense that the guy rummaged through everything but only took the paper money. Only thing we can think of is he got caught in the hailstorm Friday evening and just busted in for shelter.... I feel so bad we had to keep the guys van an extra day as it's his only means of transportation.

Apparently it happened two weeks ago and she just now decided to bring it in. No news stories I can recall and in that neighborhood it wouldn't surprise me if no cops were called. Snitches get shot.

Good thing the city of Cleveland just laid off 81 more officers to help balance the budget.

Hell, the van that got broken into we had a marked car show up two minutes after we put in the call, 10 minutes later the detective shows up and 5 minutes after that the forensics guy shows up to search for prints. All over a couple hundred bucks in damage and two dollars in stolen cash.

I guess it's much safer in our lot then it is out on the streets, you might get shot out there! :mrgreen:

Man, sometimes it doesn't pay to do this work...Came down here to do two things, both of which should have been very easy to do. One, load a new program into the rig's PLC, and two check to see why motors aren't running full speed out of one drive. Started with the motor speed problem. After f-ing with it for 8hrs today, I haven't got a clue why it's doing what it is. At this point, it's gonna be something simple, small and stupid. Then checked the new program that was emailed to me. Glad I did, as it was completely wrong, so I edited it as needed. Then, went to load the program into the PLC, and the $^&#%$^%#$#&$$ communication cable (Laptop to PLC) won't work.
Oh well, I'll work on it more in the AM
