Good afternoon, everyone! Just wanted to let you know I'm alive and well. I've merely been too busy to post lately. Did I miss anything of consequence over the last four weeks?

I spent more time in the freaking waiting room and in the chair than I did seeing the dentist :wha:

They took an x-ray and said it was clean but that the gums around the tooth were extremely red, so he gave me some antibiotics. But there is nothing I can take for the pain other than ibuprofen because I'm allergic to narcotic based pain killers. My face still hurts...bad :(

That sucks - I had an infected tooth before - same kind of deal - it only took about 2 days for the Antibiotics to kick in enough to lessen the pain.

Same tooth

Endodontist...it's his job to check root canals and nothing else.He will either say that the original root canal was done properly or he'll redo it at a higher cost.

The reason I know about this is because this is how my problems started.I was having heat issues so the endodontist put a tool right on my tooth that was 400 degrees.I didn't even flinch.Then I went home that night and ate some spaghetti and was in intense pain (the tooth felt like it was surrounded or it was seizing or clenching with the pain).

Endo guy told me in 2002 - I think it's a nerve issue, not in the tooth...in your jaw.

If I had only listened to him :sad2:


More root canals, some extractions and lots of occlusional adjustments to the surrounding teeth and thousands of dollars later....still in lots of pain.
DON'T let him adjust the surrounding teeth to accommodate the bad one, focus on the one tooth and it's geography.People don't understand that nerves
that surround a tooth that's been root canaled can be causing the pain, because the pain feels like it's coming directly from the tooth.

Or it could be fractured under the gum line in which case everything above is moot :thumbsup:

Lance - does the tooth feel heavy on top (like in your gums) or does it feel 'too full'?

If so he may have botched the RC and the tooth is filling up with gases etc...simple fix for that is to drill into the crown, relieve the pressure and redo.

the root canal was done fine and something has caused that infection...I assume you brush your teeth daily and you don't drink coffee or smoke, which are huge benefits to healing any infections...

as for the meds....I'm similar to you in one way.You can't take anything stronger than over the counter stuff and I won't take the drugs they prescribe to me for pain :lol:

It's easy...you will need 1 cord that doesn't come with the new drives (if you want to run 2 drives inside the PC). It's the cord that goes from the drive to the MoBo (make sure you have an empthy connection spot on the MoBo). Other than that it's simple. Unplug the old one and pluc in the new one.

I use the SSD for the OS and programs I install and I use the 2TB HDD for all my files.

Try and look at it this way...when you have a tough day like today, no matter how bad it is tomorrow...it should be a little more tolerable.

went to a friend's place, he smoked one with me and I almost fell off a lawn chair :lol: My entire jaw and nerve process relaxed instantly.

Yeah, it still hurts to put too much pressure on the tooth, so you are probably right...I won't be able to relax until the pain is completely gone.
