That's our worst days...its snows like hell, then melts and freezes overnight.Some people on this forum have no idea how treacherous a daily commute can be in the winter.Normal trip is 30 minutes and you end up driving for 2.5 hours :| I hate it

Pretty much, yes. Or when it annoys the hell out of you. If you're on very slippery surfaces (ice) the traction control pretty much won't let you go anywhere. I got a Mercedes stuck in less than 2 inches of snow on a nearly flat surface because the TC would not let the wheels spin. As soon as I turned it off the tires would spin out the snow and dig in enough to take off. :lol:


Downhill assist also.. I dont know what the frick thats about..

Supposed to keep you in control on slippery downhill surfaces? If I'm reading this right looks like it only works in 4Wlow at very slow speeds.


The DAC system assists engine braking to improve directional control during descent on steep or slippery surfaces. When in 4WD low range and with DAC activated, if any one wheel accelerates beyond or below a two-to-four MPH low-speed setting, the DAC system will control the brakes to help ensure the vehicle continues in a straight position when going down a hill. The DAC system is automatically de-activated if the driver depresses the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, or the DAC button.

Basically for you guys, leave it on. (unless you want to play) In the rare case you do get stuck on ice or heavy snow over ice just remember you can turn it off to get unstuck, spinning the wheels will clean the treads and move much more snow for temporary situations.

Personally I would probably have it on while on the highway or in heavy traffic,windy roads etc. I'm kinda aggressive in the snow when no one is around me so I would probably turn it off so I could have some fun. I'm sure you probably already felt it working on your way home, especially taking off from the stop signs etc.

Only time I can be aggressive in the snow is on the way into work because there are fewer cars. In the afternoon I'm surrounded by idiots :(
