I had thought it was worth about 800-900, but had my brother-in-law take it to his gunsmith to be checked out before I shoot it. The gunsmith offered my b-i-l $2000 on the spot for it. Not sure why. When I get home I need to run the serial number on it.

I'm considering buy an Hi=point carbine in .40 to match my pistol. They are cheap as hell, made in the US, and if the pistols are any indication, they are rugged as hell too. I've been looking around some for them.
Also read a report about a six gun that takes centerfire .40 ammo. That would be cool so my wife could have agun she is more comfy with, and I don't have to buy different ammo.

I'm thinking of either a Glock in .40 caliber (I don't have any pistols in .40 caliber yet) or I have always wanted a Ruger Mini-14...maybe if I can find one reasonably priced

.40 is a great round. I love the .45s but .40 generally shoot a little better to me. Only thing I don't like about .40 is the ammo cost is a bit more than 9mm or .45s. I sold the largest hand gun I ever owned (a .454 Casull) about 10 years ago. Two reasons: ammo cost (about a dollar a round back then) and it hurt to shoot ( I'm small boned for a guy)

I've never owned a Glock, but I know they are quite popular, hope you find a nice one. Do we have a firearms thread?

In have a Beretta in 9mm and I have a Sig in .45, so I'd like to get a .40 to add to the collection. I'm not sold on getting a Glock, but they are damn nice weapons and I wouldn't mind having one. I have a .357 Mag revolver that kicks the worst out of any of my handguns. Even with that, I am always looking for a 'Dirty Harry' .44 Mag just because I've always wanted one.

Not sure if there is a thread or not, GF may have started one because I know he mentioned that he wanted to do so.

.357s can kick depending on what frame they are built on, no doubt. The .454 I had was custom built on a Python frame in the mid 80's Not nearly enough mass for that round imho.
I had searched for one before, but guess I missed it. Maybe when I get home, I'll take some photos of mine, and friends guns and comment on pros/cons of them.
If you aren't sold on the Glock, I highly recommend the S&W M&P in the .40 cal. I've shot a lot of rounds in the .45 cal, and it's an awesome handling firearm. Field stripping is easy as heck, and pricing is pretty good as well.

You know I drink premium beers.. I prefer the amber ales.. But really, I cant drink that stuff 24/7.. For one I'd weigh 300lbs. and two it's too expensive.. Three its way too heavy... I drink the CL as an everyday beer during the week because its inexpensive, pretty refreshing, and it's like a 100 calories a pop. For 10 bucks a 12 pack it's hard to top...

Plus if I drank 10 Legend Brown Ales on a Saturday afternoon at the beach I'd get inebriated and everyone wold run me out of the community... If I didn't die of bloat first.. :lol:

We're slammed with work now, overnight almost...it was just a high stress day yesterday and those always wear me the fuck out

Can't believe what a turnaround its been in the last few weeks......... just hope it continues *crosses fingers* I'd rather be busy as fuck running around with my head up my arse than be quiet and worrying about my job again! :lol: Been quite tiring mentally this week though, organising and prioritizing all the work


Good here, just chilling at the office. Probably going to the gun range sat if the weather is nice. Have no plans for Fri. May get off my arse and do some more sanding in the kitchen so can finally get the cabinets painted.

I keep meaning to have a go at clay pigeon shooting but have never got round to it........ no handguns over here of course

The clays can be quite fun. Once you get proficient at clays, might I suggest downing a bottle of single malt, replacing the clays with golf balls and have at it mate.
