Nah, not lonely (but do miss the family) just a bit frustrated. Been here for 9 days, and have got exactly nothing accomplished. Have been waiting on parts to be rebuilt. Sent both parts out (1 each for two separate engines) by helo 6 days ago (Dunno why they didn't send out before I got here..already knew that was what was wrong before I left Houston on the 31st) Got one of the parts back yesterday (both were ready, but they only put one on helo for some reason) other was supposed to come by boat and arrive last night. Anyway, got the part that is here installed, and now the engine won't run. My controls are working fine, but the local mechanic couldn't figure out what was wrong, kept trying to say it was my equipment. Argued with him all day yesterday, finally convinced him it was engine problem, then we figure out the fuel pump on engine is bad. No spare. Imagine that. Well, now I find out that the part for the other engine is still at the dock, and won't be here until late tonight at best (but, I heard that yesterday and the day before too, lol)
Meanwhile the bosses on the rig, and back on shore (not my bosses, but my customer's bosses) are upset because it's not fixed yet. I keep trying to explain what is going on, but they don't want to hear that their people are the one's who are fucking up.

Sounds like a tough situation dude....must make you look like an ass.If it is part related, there's not much you can do other than wait for the replacements and make a big noise after it gets fixed - DUE TO THE CORRECT WORKING PARTS.....

I try not to let stuff like this bother me, but it happens all the time, and it does bother me that office personnel who don't understand or care how this stuff works, and are actually directly at fault for NOT approving spare parts (always due to $$, yet down time costs shit loads more $$) always balem my equipment. In this case, we knew from me being on the phone and email with the rig electricians (and no, I don't get paid for that) all the weekend before I left to rig what the problem was, what it would take to fix it, etc. It was my understanding when I left that the parts were already sent out, and would be back when I arrived, so I could then tet all my equipment and verify status of what spare the do have for my equipment.

Getting a bit like an Alcopop tho which is a shame

I used to drink a bottled drink called Metz was a vodka fizzy drink you normally went onto them after about 5 pints of whatever just so you don't drink to much liquid but keep the amount of alcohol to the same

Remember starting around half ten in the morning and going to the footie and coming back to the same pub after the game drinking till it closed around 11pm

around 4 of us went for a piss and one of the lads I was with said

"Fucking hell how are we still standing"

Seemed like we drunk ourselves sober.

I miss days like that :(

Yeah, back in my younger days we would occasionally pick up berry flavored wine coolers by the case when we really wanted to just get wasted. Man drinking those things was just like drinking juice and when it finally hit, it sure packed a wallop.

Worst part of it was the hangover the next day though.

I went straight to happy hour after work...don't remember coming home at all.

Power drinking on an empty stomach to boot...what I do remember is eating some cold chicken I had in the fridge when I did get home and then promptly puking my guts out :puke:
