What is a tab book?
Answer:
"Tab" is short for tablature, a method of music notation for fretted string instruments.

Instead of traditional Western music notation which uses a staff to represent the relative "highness" or "lowness" of pitches, tablature actually represents the individual strings of the instrument, with a number or letter indicating the fret to be pressed for each note. Tablature is most associated with guitar today, but actually dates back to the Renaissance lute and related instruments. Tablature may also be used by mandolin, ukulele, etc.

Was practising on the dart board earlier, playing 501 down. First throw 180, second throw 177 :shock: Next dart was in the T20.......... then someone in my head shouted "you're gonna do a perfect 9 dart leg" and i shanked the next dart into single 18 :mrgreen: Couldnt even bring myself to throw the 3rd dart :lol: That's the closest i've ever come to a 9 dart leg........ must be a sign of improvement though :D

The next big game is another County game away to Grampian (Aberdeen area) on the 9th Feb then the following weekend is the Scottish Open in Glasgow which i've decided to enter this year......... gonna be a whole lot of darting going on :dance:

Could be a few years yet :lol: The last 3 years or so have been a major upward curve though after ten years or so of just being a "half decent" player and it's all down to practice :) Never used to do much practising but started putting a few more hours in once i started the team at my local club (wanted to lead by example :lol: ). The better i got, the more i wanted to practice......... the more i practised, the better i got :lol: Finally settling on a dart helped too i think - had been playing with 25g darts for years until i had a throw of a mates 21g darts in the club one friday night, was playing awesome with them so ordered the same set as him the next day and never looked back.......... well, not until a few weeks ago when i managed to get hold of a guy who custom makes darts :lol: Sent him one of my barrels to match from and got him to make me a set of exact duplicates (in terms of weight/length/diameter) but with a more aggressive grip pattern....... and they're awesome! Missed a few darts at double with them on monday night but that was my first match with them so not too worried, they're flying great in practice :D

If i start to play consistently well for the County the next step would be a call-up for N.Scotland, then the full National team......... but that's a fair bit off yet :lol: To get on tv you need to do well in the BDO open events (which all carry ranking points) and i don't really play any of them....... but hoping to start playing some now - starting with the Scottish Open next month! Get a high enough ranking then you get to play qualifiers for the TV events :)
