Speaking of, I drove a jeep liberty today... You think the Corolla is bad? Most uncomfortable car I've been in. The seat has little padding, you can feel the metal frame digging into the back of your thighs, and there is a 4" hump on the right side floor near the seat sloping down toward the gas pedal.

Camrys sell for around 29000 here...

He's at a different dealership (largest in the city) and I gave them a shining google review for their willingness to help...without buying a thing from him...they were impressed I guess :lol:

there's a lot of that Pony with a lot of new cars....seem nice on the 15 minute test drive and then the owners find out exactly where the manufacturers cut corners..

my Corolla is much better with the floor hump removed...but it's still their entry level car and a compact....it is roomy on the inside, I'll give Toyota that

Well, good day today. Got new laptop and phone (work stuff) Phone is blackberry Z-10. Lot's to learn as I've never used a smart phone before. Sad to see that they cheapened up the Corolla. I use to commute with someone who had a 91 and dealt it in at 200,000km, and then bought a 2003 and just did the same. Both comfy and we had a 45 minute drive each way.

It was an entirely unserious project until we discovered that our string section just really, really clicked well together. Dave Campo (the big lefty from the ol band Payback and he currently is playing bass for INC also) came up with it to write preposterously technical heard heavy fast stuff, half as a joke...which is why our singer is...ah...we love you Seth, you're a great drummer. This was our first show with the new drummer (who used to play drums for payback.) I'll pop up vids of it whenever that gets uploaded.

Gotta get that neve board working before we record...we were just about getting ready to record when my buddy's dad died and we wound up getting that board, its such a rare and good sounding piece that we need to use it for our stuff.

Funny as hell last week in the Houston office of Precision Drilling. 80% of personnel there are Canadians. I just wanna giggle when I hear a couple of them. Think Red Green Show. I actually may head up to Canada (Calgary) at some point for extra training.

hahaha and here I thought I wasnt quite animated enough! I was tired that day...when I rehearse alone at the studio I try to go apeshit...makes it tough to play since the stuff is very technical, but people like seeing performers freak out for some reason :lol:

I pretty much only play 5 and 6 string basses. I am *so* used to the extra low string, I feel naked on a 4. Its all about timbre, really...when I want the fkn balls deep huge sound, the extra low string has so much more deepness to it, there is no comparison. So in that show2 pic, I may look like I'm all power posin, but that's just me hittin an octave chord on the 5th and 3rd, that song gets soooo heavy right there :mosh:

When i was younger i used to leave it until the last minute then it would be a dash round the shops when they're busy as hell....... which was fun :| Had enough of that so always try to have it done by the end of november nowadays, then i don't have to worry too much nearer the time plus it normally means i still have some spending (beer) money for the christmas period :lol: Got two County darts matches still to go before christmas plus a lads day out which can get expensive! Then there's the boxing day horseracing which is an annual lads day out at a pub in Perth (bookmakers right next door plus big screens for watching the racing) and the following day i have a darts comp! I wish i was a millionaire :(

Yeah, I dislike waiting until the end anymore to get stuff for Christmas, so I try and start early. It just sucks being out with all the crowds in the stores. We've ordered some things, picked up others when we are out. so we do have a fair portion of it done. Should be done in a week or two, depending how the money holds up (the doig and her broken toe was a very unexpected expense....by the time we're done with it all, we'll probably have spent about $600 on it :wha: ).

We looked into the insurance...for a minimum coverage it was going to be roughly $40/month and then you still need to pay all the vet bills up front and wait to get reimbursed from the insurance company. And the list of things the pet insurance didn't cover was so long that we didn't think it was going to be worth it.

What we're planning on doing is putting aside the money a premium would cost every month into a savings account and then just use that if something comes up.

Well today was abust. :lol: Drove 4 hours from Odessa to the rig near Maljamar,NM. Supposed to wire up 2 new generators (old ones were 800kw,new ones are 1100kw) Everything is supposed to be there to do the job. As typical, upon arrival, less than half the parts needed to do the job were on location, and no one had any plans to send more. Soooo, we wound up driving back to Odessa to the local approved vendor to get parts.They had everything we need except 4 items that are supposed to be here tomorrow morning. We were only given 2 days to do the change, so looks like tomorrow will be a late ass night.

Waiting on some parts to arrive, then we get to drive back to Maljamar and start wiring up the generators.

FBD (and others) these gens are typical of what power "diesel/Electric" rigs. my job starts at the gens, and goes to everything that has electricity to it. All the PLC, SBC, I/O,UPS, motors, cables(including fiber, ethernet, profi and modbuss) all the programming that makes it work, etc, etc.

I've actually thought of getting a mig and some patch panels (relatively cheap) to practice with on this truck before it makes it's last trip (to the scrap yard). I want to build either a 68 Mustang or a 68 Camaro, and either one will likely need rust repair in order to be in my budget purchase price.
