I haven't had a radar detector in ages. Last time I had one, it just gave off way too many false positives. Plus that one in the link costs twice as much as the speeding ticket :lol:

Fair enough :lol: What happens over there when you get caught speeding, is it just a fine or do you get penalty points etc? :-k Over here i think you get a £60 fine plus 3 penalty points added to your licence (provided it's not a major speeding crime like 40mph above the limit or something), once the penalty points add up to 15 (i think) then you lose your licence. Not 100% on those figures since i've luckily never been caught :lol:

You get a fine and points...the faster you are over the speed limit, the higher the fine and the points against your license. In Colorado, up to 10 mph over the speed limit is 2 points, 11 to 19 is 4 points, and anything over 20 over the limit is 6 points. If you get more than 10 points in a 12 month period, they suspend your license.

I don't think a detector would have done any good anyway. The new generations of speed guns uses "instant on" technology and laser. At 330 AM the detector might pick up the signal as his truck is getting hit but then it's too late.

Basically they only work in heavier traffic when the cops shoots someone else.

It's because it's all about the money, not about safety. It was 3:30 in the morning on an nearly empty interstate highway. They offer the reduced points so you don't take a big hit on your insurance and so you don't fight it. Pure profit for the city.

Yea, chargers in stores are a huge ripoff. A cheapo universal for the Dell I got was $70, I found a 90watt slim Dell brand charger on Amazon for $30, the 65 watt ones were $15

Just woke up late, gotta grab a shower and head out the door. Plus stop at Home Depot to pick up a plumbing fitting. And it just started to rain and that will be turning to freezing rain then 6-12 inches of snow.

Laptop lid looked a bit scabby so i got a bit of carbon fibre vinyl and wrapped it :tup: Turned out pretty nice :)

Yeah, makes a big difference :tup: Cheap too, got a length of the vinyl on ebay for about £4 delivered :D The corners were a bit of a bugger to do, first time i've needed to use a hairdryer in years :lol:

I've done a few partial wraps and vinyls on cars so i do have a little bit of know-how, managed to do it without getting any bits of dirt or air bubbles in it so i'm pretty happy with that alone :lol:

Thought about doing the inside too (around the keys etc) but there's no way i'd manage that without making a fuck-up :lol: Too many bits i'd have to carefully trim!

No matter how careful I am with stuff like that, I always seem to manage to get one stupid tiny air bubble :x

Most of the vinyls i do at work i put on with soapy water (so you can move them around and get them placed correctly) then squeegee the water out with a soft plastic card afterwards, it does sometimes leave bubbles but they tend to vanish as it dries out. With this i did it dry (obviously didnt want water near it :lol: ) and as carefully as i could using a soft card from work then trimmed the edges with a craft knife :)

we have an East Indian driver who's a Sikh. He looks exactly like Joe Pesci down to the voice :lol:

Why is everyone so incompetent?!?!

Went to the doctor... the insurance company still hasn't paid my claims. :|
Looking for tracking info... CSR refused to assist and argued with me until I got his supervisor on line. Oh and guess what won't meet the arrival date? :|
Checked my pay stub.... they fucked up my direct deposit, didn't split the check. That costs me $100 bonus for a new DDA at the bank. :|

We changed 12/1 also, but same carrier, just a different plan. This is going back as far as October. Doctor says I owe $1300 because they won't pay anything. I filed a formal complaint last week. Next stop, insurance commission.

We switched insurance companies completely, we're now using United Healthcare.
