I have my consultation with an oral surgeon this morning :dance:

well...it's a tooth with a gold crown I don't want to lose because it's key in my occlusion...and my dentist and I found out the hard way that freezing doesn't work on that portion of my face because of nerve issues..


so it's both....it's been killing me off and on for 3 years, now the tooth is mobile which makes the socket encourage infection no matter how fastidious I am....but I also have some pretty good days with limited pain, like today, so getting oral surgery seems idiotic :lol:

it is up in the seat of my sinuses and has a gold crown, so the chances of something going bad are high during an extraction...but waiting for the next week of indescribable pain is idiotic because it's happened 3 times within 4 months....can't bite down on the tooth, muscles in my face get so screwed up I can't talk....it's very similar to having a fully infected tooth that needs a root canal, with the exception that nothing is wrong within the tooth...



sorry :lol: I have to give this guy 13 years of history in 20 minutes and most of it has nothing to do with that tooth...

Apparently not, she told me to call back at 8.30am monday morning to get an emergency appointment :roll: Always seems to be a nightmare trying to get a dental appointment over here....... my last check-up, the closest i could get when i called was nearly two weeks away! I think they do keep spaces free for emergency appointments but it's 'on the day' kind of thing, first call, first served. Same with doctor appointments tbh.

In Canada, with most or all full time jobs, part of the employment package is dental coverage through an insurance company. Businesses use different insurance providers of their choice so coverage can be waaaay better at some jobs.

We don't have a national kitty with structured fees. In fact, in 1997 the national dental fee guide was privatized or dissolved, allowing each dental place to charge what they want. So my dentist may ask 1000 dollars for a procedure, while Joe's Flybynite Dental office will ask only 750 :lol:
