Fun and games at work this afternoon......... over £9k vanished from our works main bank account! :shock: Our secretary was trying get into the online banking all morning/early afternoon to make some payments and it was down for maintenance, finally got in.......... but she did something stupid :lol: She told me the normal login boxes looked different and assumed this was something to do with the sites maintenance so she went ahead anyway. Normally you're only asked to pop in 6 digits from two separate passwords but she says she had to enter the entire passes........ which sent alarm bells ringing in my head! So, when she later noticed the money had vanished she got straight on the phone to the bank......... and they passed her on to the fraud squad :lol: A little to-ing and fro-ing later and the Fraud squad called us back to say the money would be back in our account by 10am tomorrow morning :lol: They wouldn't give out any more details but it looks to me like the bank website was hacked during their maintenance downtime. Checked the browser history and there was nothing untoward there, she went to the bank site via the bookmark as she always does. Been running virus/malware scans and can't find anything (brought the laptop she uses home with me tonight) so i definitely think it was something on their end! Poor Dawn, she was panicking like fuck :lol:

It's strange, it'll be working fine for weeks then all of a sudden when i click on it i just get reverted back to normal tv........ it's like clicking on the app causes an error which causes the smarthub to close :-k Fuckin stupid thing :x Finally got it working by 'hacking' my tv and changing my region to some country i haven't even heard of :lol: The apps delete themselves then reload....... and it's working :cheers:

had a check up at the oral surgeon's yesterday afternoon...hole is healing fine but my masseter muscle is like a steel cable and it's damaging my trigeminal nerve...causing a shitstorm of pain every time I open my mouth....I can't even drink cold water because of the hypersensitivity of the area...

going to get a gun and correct this dental problem once and for all....

My laptop battery isn't charging :wha: Been through every troubleshooting guide i can find but it just won't charge :-k It's only about a month or so old and had been working/charging fine up until now........ fucking stupid POS :x

The one good thing is that i bought it on amazon (fulfilled by amazon anyway) and it has a 1 year warranty. Have pm'd PP to see if he has any ideas since he's the Toshiba laptop expert :thumbsup: It may well just be a duff battery but would rather be sure before contacting amazon :)

Ugg. Looks like this weekend is probably shot as far as being off goes. We had a rig bun up all three gensets, as well as the SCR house and MCC (power distribution) At least someone higher up is thinking, and instead of traveling to location in west Texas to do repairs/replacement, they're trucking in the gensets and drive house to our yard here. Just saw my latest paycheck. 75 hrs of total overtime in 2 weeks. :yay:

That's why we get so pissed off when they close out every car on the lot at the end of every month. Our paychecks are always double+ for that week and peanuts the next. Somehow they believe that if you rob 20% from may, then 20% from june, then 20% from july you're somehow making more money.

That's just stupid...sometimes there are months that are worse than others, just closing out every ongoing job in the shop just makes things worse. I worked for a company that was the same way....bill out everything you can before the end of the month, then there is nothing going out for the first week and a half of the following month...and the cycle keeps going and going.

That's exactly what they are running into this month. We had a "record" month last, but it was only because they piled twice as much work on us as we could handle, every man in the shop was doing only the fast, easy work. We did great numbers, but all the big jobs were sitting collecting dust for weeks on end. We ended up going from the #1 Nationwide ins shop to near the bottom of the list in less than 4 weeks. Plus it looks as if we're really gonna tank this month.

How does that go over with your boss if you do 160% for april and then 50% for may??

Yup, 'borrowing' from upcoming months is just stupid and it makes everything worse, especially when the negative cash flow from the bad month(s) catches up with you.

Yep, let alone, they close out jobs before they are started or before the supplement has been approved and either have to start a second RO# or just eat the loss. The parts guy has a pile of bills he can't get paid on because of it. It's thousands of dollars they are throwing out the window. Plus it looks much better if you have consistent numbers every month, instead of it looking like an EKG of someone having a heart attack.

Problem is our manager is on the right page but his boss comes over from the dealership and does this.
