I had an issue with an infrared lamp and a buckled panel, ended up being a bit late having to re-repair the fucking thing :x Damn shitey wee cars made out of fucking coke cans :x

My 17" is loaded, high end I7, 8 gigs ram with 2 open slots, 2 HDD bays (1 SSD,1 HDD installed) 1080p display and a backlit keyboard. I found it on sale for $799 and added the SSD. It boots from full shutdown in 8 seconds. :wank:

I also have a 15" Dell with a core I5 I got for free (broken screen and BSOD). Put in a new screen ($60), replaced a bad stick of RAM ($20), Added an SSD I had from my old laptop and put the HDD in the DVD bay using a caddy. ($15). So I'm about $100 into it and it's plenty fast for when I'm up at the islands on summer weekends.

Not through steam......... through "other" means 8-[ It ran no problem (it was a shit game though, got pissed off with it after about 10 mins :lol: ).

Pushed the reset button and the pc booted up :thumbsup: System restore didnt work (some bullshit about my antivirus fucking it up....... even though my AV was turned off :wha: ). Went into the nvidia program thing, checked for updates and installed the latest gfx driver. Downloaded seatools (samsung 840pro ssd in my rig) and i'm running tests on the drive right now, passed every test so far, just running the long test now!

Also ive turned off the "reboot at bsod" thing so at least i can get a look at the bsod if/when it happens again!

sounds simplistic Goof but I look at the software changes first before suspecting hardware calamities

I bet that 'borrowed' game has more to do with it than you think....especially since the bsod message refers to a graphics problem ...


and if your graphics card/chip is too weak to play the game (I think you have a pretty good card if memory serves) it would cause system resets and/or monitor problems in some cases..

those hacked games do some dodgy things to the existing software...they're no longer 'no cd' hacks...they're bypassing copy protection and internet connectivity, and at times altering things like hardware graphic shaders on the card itself...just to run the game

Was at dentists today to get a filling redone, after he drilled it out apparently it was down to the pulp :| So i've got a temp atm and back in on the 27th nov for root treatment :cheerlead: Oh, and my right knee is in fucking agony atm, been getting worse and worse these last few weeks, could hardly bend it this morning without being in agony so guess ill have to get a docs appointment now too :meh: If i was a dog theyd put me down :lol:

there's a lot of boring science to it as well....some teeth are weight bearing (like molars) and some are cutting/rending teeth.....you can lose a certain amount of the latter, but when you start ripping out weight bearing teeth your bite can only stand so much dysfunction....body will adapt in most cases but my advice always is - do not fuck around with your occlusion....you can start grinding your teeth to the point where so much enamel is gone, that you start grinding close to the nerve...

or simply....when the geography of your teeth changes too much, your brain tries to seek out the differences when you sleep or subconsciously....even bad fillings and crowns can start this degradation to the point where it's no longer correctable....unless you try implants or get all of your teeth removed and start over at Zero...

I've always just run all-season tires, this year I went and found 4 used rims and got a great deal on 4 Goodyear Ultra-Grip Winter tires. I'm almost looking forward to trying them out.

And this morning's drive was the worst so far....because the snow has been cleared off most of the highways and now they are all shiny. And you know they aren't shiny from being wet because it's too cold for there to be liquid water on the road and it's too cold for the liquid de-icer to work. Give me 4 inches of good old snow on the highway instead, at least I know I have traction in snow, not so much on a shiny highway.

Snow stopped early yesterday morning, but the cold is still here. It only made it to 11° yesterday and right now it's 6° but supposedly it's supposed to make it into the mid-30's today.

First snowfall of the year and as predicted everyone forgot how to drive this morning.

I was in the fast lane on the highway with a few others doing about 50, the next lane over was doing 35. Some asshat decided to change lanes in front of me then proceed to continue driving the same speed as the car he was behind. By the time I got off the highway there was no cars in front of him and near gridlock behind. Are people that oblivious to others on the road?
