It was supposed to be this spring sometime, but her oldest daughter is pregnant and having some kind of fucked up pregnancy (I don't remember the name of it, but it's where some of the internal organs are on the outside of the body) and she is due in a month or so to have the baby which will end up in ICU for a few months at the minimum, if it even survives. So because of that, we are putting it off until aty least this fall. More than likely it will be next spring though I think.

My new laptop is meant to be arriving tonight between 8pm and 9pm :dance: Thought about buying a new one for months and finally decided to go down the custom route! Bought my current desktop from the same place and it's great so thought i'd go with them again :ok: 17 inch, I7 processor, samsung ssd evo, 8gb ram, backlit keyboard, no gfx card since i dont game, no software since i have a win7 disk :lol: Cost £650! Didn't think that was too bad, the closest i could find in a pre-build was costing nearer £1000 :shock:

Processor is almost the same as mine, (mine only turbo's to 3.4, yours 3.5) Same ram, backlit keyboard, mines a 1080p display, oh and I have two empty ram slots, damn thing came with 4 slots, two accessible. Two drive bays is really nice! I've a Toshiba SSD 128 and I think there's a 1tb HDD in there.

Only difference is because it's running windows 8 and the new UEFI with fast boot I'm at about 8 seconds from power button to desktop.

Processor is almost the same as mine, (mine only turbo's to 3.4, yours 3.5) Same ram, backlit keyboard, mines a 1080p display, oh and I have two empty ram slots, damn thing came with 4 slots, two accessible. Yeah I thought so too :thumbsup: As I said to Lance yesterday, to buy a pre-build with similar specs would have cost me around £1000 so I'm pretty happy :) Also got free 3 year return to base warranty on parts plus 1 year parts and labour warranty :ok: Going minus OS and GFX card helped with the price of course, extra £80 for Win7/8 I think and £100 for a bottom end card!

Finally got everything installed on the laptop :tup: Had an issue with a PCI driver last night so emailed them - they responded early this morning with a download link for the correct driver......... which didn't work :lol: Ended up going straight to the realtek site and grabbing the latest driver from there - booyah it worked :cheers: Have to email them back to get them to update their driver links :lol: Think ive got every bit of software i need now too (barring Photoshop since it looks like i scrubbed the drive i used to keep the install files on :doh: ).

Yeah, £80 iirc :thumbsup: It was only 1 driver and doesnt look like it does anything serious anyway (possible flash card reader driver?), everything was running AOK without it :tup:
