He was transferred to the new place this past Sunday afternoon, we went and saw him Monday night. Apparently he is being difficult now and refuses to sign the forms (or consent to have someone sign for him) to allow the state benefits to start because he swears to them he is going home in a couple of weeks. When we were there on Monday, he never mentioned it. :|

That's the toughest part. With my Mom and her memory problem we go through 'her leaving' about three times a week. She somehow got access to a phone and used to call my Dad the odd night and say - Okay, I'm ready to come home now. It killed him inside :|

With your Dad he still has his faculties so he understands on some level, it's either you guys dressing him, helping with the bathroom stuff and carrying him around your house...or it's the care givers at the new home. You might have to tell him that outloud one day Lance. "We can't give you the care you need at home, I'm sorry".

We just found out that my Mom didn't have a bath for the entire month of October. I was livid and was ready to go down and speak to the person that runs the unit. She calls us and explains that my Mom refused each time it was bath day, and she refused three times. They have this protocol and after they wait 30 minutes and ask three separate times, they won't physically force the patient. Then she asks us - Do you want us to drug your Mom so we can bathe her on schedule, we do it for other patients. My Dad said no fucking way. Reason I tell you this is because there's always two sides to an event and you may run into similar if your Dad is being stubborn or doesn't like something at the home.

Because we have no Power of Attorney, we can't force him to stay there and neither can the facility. He could tell them he's leaving and they will have to let him go. The thing is, he can't go, he can't walk himself anywhere. The farthest he can walk right now is 15 feet, and that's with about 25% assistance according to the therapist I talked to yesterday. He can't come home, there's no way. And it's not just the fact about him needing help doing everything, there's nobody home for 8 to 10 hours a day. he can't be by himself for that long.

Today is the anniversary of the night I told you guys about a year ago. Mom was still here, we argued, she walked out the door around midnight in her slippers and sweater, no oxygen and started walking down the street in the snow. I called my sister and she helped talk to my Mom while I pretty much carried her home. My sister called my brother, the next day he made me relay the exact events and my Mom was sent to a home four days later. I often think that if I had handled the situation better, not called my sister, my Mom would still be here.

They keep telling me that it's the best thing for her. I didn't realize what my Dad was going through daily for six years because I was at work every day. He was at his breaking point trying to look after her and she wouldn't accept (or believe) that she needed help. We found out how much help she really needed the day we packed up some of her stuff and took her to the home. I won't get into it but her personal world here had totally changed.

No matter how bad it gets Lance, always keep the thought - It's the best thing for him. If he doesn't speak to you, or tries to guilt you or even hit you, keep pushing for the end result of him getting the proper care, in the proper environment. I thought with me quitting my job and being here with my Dad, it would be easy to look after my Mom. Now I see the problems they have in the home, having a full staff of trained personal, and I understand now I was wrong. If something happened to my Mom while she was here because I figured I could be the full time caregiver...well, there would be no forgiveness for my conceited stupidity, no matter how well meaning the thought behind it was.

You won't have to get mean, you just have to keep being strong and work the issue until he's safe. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer today, I hate fucking anniversaries.

Go into system settings, appearance, click on skin then scroll down to settings then i think it's called add-on shortcuts. I'll tell you for sure in 10 mins or so :lol:

Fusion adds them all in the one go btw redred, phoenix, genesis, etc etc and gives you all the shortcuts automatically!

Well that was fun, took fucking ages trying to connect the Firestick to my mate's BT router :x Could connect my phone through it no problem but the firestick just wouldnt connect :wha: Did a bit of googling and apparently the BT router/hub has this built-in "smart-setup" pish which can cause issues so i got into his router config and turned it off......... and it connected instantly :lol: Fuckin' technology :x
