My dad decided he wanted a better laptop, "something as fast as yours" he said, i spec'd one up for him on pcspecialist - 17" screen, I5 processor, 8gb ram, ssd etc etc...... £750........ "heres my bank card, just order it up" he says :lol:

Fair play, he spends a lot of time indoors, especially in the winter! Most nights hes on youtube watching/listening to music with his headphones on. Their current laptop is an entry level Dell i bought them for christmas 3 or 4 years ago. It was their first laptop and has served them well tbf....... initial load time's pretty slow though even when it was new.

So, in a week or so's time ill have the wonderful task of swapping over their Firefox profiles/files etc....... bleh :lol:

I never bought my Dad a new PC but always set him up as a second user on mine.

I still do the old install Win7 from scratch, 279000 updates, and all of the programs.

Best part of that whole process was when I got most of the main stuff in, then got to set up his profile and transfer over his five bookmarks and four email contacts, random notes in his inbox.

He always gave me a big pat on the shoulder thanking me :thumbsup:

tbh Win10 pretty much looks and feels like Win7, it's a really good OS imho, haven't had a single issue with it :)
