Only time I left the house over the weekend was to take Thor to the vet to have his blood drawn and to try and make a grocery store run on Saturday morning. Me and the kid went to the grocery store and it was a shit show. So much stuff missing from the shelves. People are just freaking the fuck out here for no reason and hoarding all kinds of things. We were just there trying to do a normal grocery shopping trip. :|

Colorado isn't as bad as some states yet. There's 5 states on total lockdown now, but we aren't at that point here yet. But, the governor did have a press conference again yesterday and said that all "non-essential" businesses need to cut staff by at least 50%. But as far as everything else, there's really no place to go. Nothing is open. Other than places like grocery stores and drug stores/pharmacies, everything has been closed down by the state.

You guys made any plans to shut up shop yet or is it business as usual? We're still working away as normal, but that could change any day i suppose...... work is beginning to slow down drastically though (understandably, no-one wants to pay for vehicle repairs atm unless its large crash damage). Think i only spoke with 2 walk-in customers last week, and the big sales garages we do a lot of work for are pretty much dead too.

There's probably enough work here atm to last 1-2 weeks then i dunno :|

So far it's business as usual. I guess until we're told otherwise, we're going to consider ourselves an "essential" business because we're in manufacturing. But it has definitely slowed down. I got maybe 25% of the normal e-mails last week that I usually get. So who knows how long we'll have work coming in. The government issued a countrywide lockdown on monday night, we'd gone in yesterday morning and had a chat amongst ourselves before he arrived and pretty much decided we'd finish off the important jobs, get cars back to customers, then shut up shop. From what i can gather he'd arrived and went through to the paintshop, Gordon told him what we'd discussed and he started acting like a dick. Came through to the panelshop, voice raised, "right, i need everyone into the office right now, we need to have a meeting" - i said i'm not going into a tiny office with 7 of us in there and he spouts some bullshit like "oh for fucks sake, youre not gonna catch it here blah blah blah....... there's the fucking door then (pointing at the front door)" so i just walked straight out and came home.

My neighbour Gordon walked out this morning after finding out one of our other worker's uncle and auntie are both in hospital and have tested postitive. I think the workshop will be closed very soon. Choice between dying or losing your job isn't a choice. tbh i've had bigger fallouts with him before so i'm not too worried. I'm sure he knows i was in the right.he's just worried about losing his business/livelihood which i can understand....... just a shame he can't act like a normal human being at times like this.

Yeah, he should have understood it was all about safety. It's like myself, I'm not so much worried about catching it because I'm in decent health, but I don't want to catch it and then pass it on to someone who is in the really "at risk" group. Like the wife's parents are both in their 70's and both have health issues. I could never live with myself if I knew I was the one to catch this virus and passed it on to them and they ended up getting seriously sick, or even worse, died.

Any news on the work front mate? The governor here is letting the 'stay at home' order expire on Sunday and letting some people go back to work.
