HOooooly shit the house across the street from my parents burnt down last night!! Totally gutted.

Fire started in the chimney even though they just had it cleaned, spread through the attic and someone walking their dog noticed smoke just in time to warn the family before the fire spread to the rest of the house. The couple and their toddler got out just in time

Here's something to chew on....my best friend's son goes to school with a 9 yr old lad.I guess the young guy was having all sorts of mysterious stomach problems.They tested his guts 10 ways to Tuesday until finally some forward thinking doctor did a brain scan.Turns out the boy had a tumor and it was behind his stomach difficulties.Luckily it was in a spot that could be removed, apparently he's gained some weight back and feels like a normal kid again.I like hearing those types of stories.

The center area and the stairs aren't tie off areas, but around the walls there's an 18" opening against the water walls and hand rails on the other side. You're supposed to be 100% tied off but you have to move your lanyards every few feet, so I was walking from one side to the other not tied off and the foreman was in there and saw me.

That sux..Used to be you'd get a verbal or written on tie off's, but no more...Too many idiots falling then suing the companies for themselves not following established guidelines. I do a lot of tie offs in my line of work when I'm up on the drill floor or derrick working. It's a PITA, but not as bad as falling! hahahaha

I've been a foreman and I would have talked to the person about it first and given them another chance. If they did it again, they'd get a reprimand but the superintendent probably would have scolded me for giving a reprimand instead of firing. They have zero tolerance on 100% tie off.

I work with and on forklifts.We have a machine where the user can raise the mast, standing on the forks.
I did that one night with no pallet on the forks and was grabbing a box with one foot on the top rail of our racks.

I stepped back...and fell in between one fork and the rack rail.I was alone and trying to save time and just about peed my pants.
If I would have dropped onto our concrete floor, I would have broken both of my ankles for sure.And it would have been a long, painful crawl to the phone.

This place isn't all that authentic, fairly Americanized. Both the authentic and western stuff are great though

I usually get Pad-thai which is just a limey, sweet awesome stir fry with chicken and rice noodles that's just super fresh tasting. Pad thai is really the staple Thai dish. Their curries are awesome too. Panang Curry is not too spicy, just a mild, sweet sauce with bell peppers and chicken.

If there's a good place around I strongly recommend it :thumbsup: ..... the shit in the food court at the mall is junk though, tastes nothing like how the dishes are supposed to

...Front driver side tyre shredded at about 110 km/h with a fucking great road train passing me headed in the opposite direction. If I'd got down to the metal rim I reckon that would have been it!!

As it was I managed to pull off the road and when I looked back, there were great shreds of rubber across the road....:shock:

I bought some underarmor type underwear for work. I really like them. They're thin and not itchy and with a layer over, they keep you really warm without sweating and getting damp.
When I worked in that office, sometimes the gas was disconnected for non payment and I had to wear long johns to work to stay warm. I've even put a quartz shop light under my desk to keep my feet warm.

Orig tires are Goodyear RSA run flats, 225/45/19. I'm skipping on the run flats, and going to a Continental Extreme DWS 245/45/19. It has great reviews dry/wet, and snow (though I don't really need the last) and a manufacture tread warranty of 50k miles. I tend to put about 20-25k mi on a car per year so, gonna give these a try. Gotta wait 'till they have them on hand though. They were supposed to have them today, but no dice.

Ha, my truck didn't cost that much either..it was only $700. The Z28 was $800

I went middle price range on my truck (they always quote you low, medium, and primo-expensive)....with mounting, balancing, and disposal of the old tires it was just under $800. I got good all-season Firestones. I love them.
