LMAO, no its used as a marketing tool, if your good you can really make it work for you, sadly I’m still a bit of a techphobe so I struggle with these things, I have a face book account for the salon too which is doing a little better but not by much.

I could see an actual website listing products and services of the business...anything outside of that is a little perplexing.

Using Minz's example of having a Facebook page - Do I 'befriend' the salon and then log on every day to say hi?

It is so you can promote what you’re doing and it shows on the feed of your followers, it’s a good way to reach a wider audience IF you know what you’re doing, the day to day "I'm off to the shops" type posts are for your personal accounts.

You don't want me to post my opinion or troubles on the subject :x

We used to be the same - 10 years in you get 3 weeks, 15 years you get 4 weeks etc.

Then they changed it midstream and we accrue hourly at a percentage rate...and they use that rate based on how many hours you worked the previous year.
and.... it's constantly rotating meaning I could start the year with something like 100 hours and then as I work I accrue more hours and can use them (the only benefit)

confusing?

No payouts, no rollovers. The point of a vacation pay policy is for people to actually go on vacation. Manager's should make sure people their vacation time, not encourage them to burn out so they can get paid extra.

That's fine in a big company, but when you work for a small company (less than 10 employees) it's a bit more problematic. One person takes the day off, you are missing more than 10% of your work force.

There's a point in there, for sure. I just think it is not always possible for some people to go on vacation so rolling it over or taking all/part of it as money is a good back-up. Vacation and other means to take care of mental as well as physical wellbeing need to be there too. Vacations alone aren't enough to keep workers happy, motivated and strong (ment. and phys

Point taken, but that's all the more reason to have cross-trained backups and contingency coverage plans in place. It can be done. Vacation time away is important.

Same as thing I pointed out to Lance. If your business is dependent on any one person to function you have a bigger problem than your vacation policy. I know there are exceptions but they should be rare.

Oh I most definitely always support people taking vacation. They deserve it! But I just meant that it just is not always possible for personnel reason or maybe someone is in a tight spot and needs that extra money that year and various other reasons. So it is good there is a proper way to get compensated. Either double vacation days next year or extra money.

As much as it sucks sometimes, busy is infinitely better than not busy...

Thinking of haul over to the Frio river this weekend, if I can talk my bud into bring his RV. Do some tubing and fishing.

And thanks me out today..Catch ya later!

Guess how old she is and bonus points if you know who she is. The only hint is that she's 'celebrity related'
